Time of Eve [Vid]By Staff

Time of Eve is not Yoshiura’s first film to deal with this social interaction. Mizu no Kotoba (Aquatic Language, 2002), which Yoshiura completed while studying at what is now Kyushu University’s School of Design, has a surprise, if unnecessary, twist at the end involving robots. Here, too, the storyline is more about inter”person”al relationships than anything to do with robots. (Yomiuri Newspaper)

So, why all the robots and androids? Yoshiura says he has been a big fan of Isaac Asimov, particularly his Three Laws of Robotics, from his I,Robot, ever since middle school. In fact, the Three Laws are referred to in Time of Eve, which also deals with android prostitutes, much like Spielberg’s A.I., in the latest episode.

Well, this is a pretty interesting anime or Japanese Animation that is geared towards adults. Here is a trailer and if you would like to know more about it, please proceed to their site: Time of Eve!

This is a very interesting story and situation. I am sure some of you are Star Trek the Next Generation (STNG) lovers. Reminds me of an episode when Starfleet wanted to dismantle data, so that they could study him and make as many Datas as they required for different tasks including warfare. Captain Picard was given the task to defend against Datas dismantling while First Officer Riker was instructed to represent Starfleet and argue for Data to be dismantled. It all broke up when Captain Picard was able to prove that by the act of dismantling Data, it was a first sign of revoking such “beings” their rights and the start of a vast population of slaves which man could do anything to and this was against every fiber Starfleet, with its first directive stood for. Unless you are a fan of STNG, you will not understand a word I said. On an interesting note, understand that I am not trying to take away your rights to discuss this topic merely by talking this topic in the direction which maybe most of you will not understand fully to appreciate……Knowledge is power, so try to catch up!!
